Visitors to the Academy's Meet the Oscars event can pick up a genuine Oscar statue and have a photo taken at the same time. It's a great opportunity to see the massive advance preparations needed to support the spectacle and glitz of Oscar night.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
The town buzzes with excitement as the streets around the Kodak Theatre are shut down in an orderly basis up to three weeks ahead of the Academy Awards ceremony. Most of the stars in the sidewalk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame are still visible, but some may be obscured by scaffolding and temporary bleachers. Part of the displays include a giant Oscar statue.
Celebrity Handprints and Footprints in Hollywood Cement
At Mann’s Chinese Theatre, autographs, handprints and footprints of celebrities are captured in the famous cement courtyard. It’s normally a busy spot but the action intensifies pre-Academy Awards as touts peddle tours of stars’ homes and celebrity look-alikes angle to pose for a picture.
